Achieving Market access for fresh pomegranates from South Africa is a comprehensive process which entails not only negotiations with importing country’s Plant Health authorities via the National Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF), but also adherence to various international Sanitary and Phytosanitary conditions.

POMASA has representation on the DAFF Market Access Forum as well as other forums such as the Food Safety and MRL Working group in order to ensure that the industry is able to export products to the current export markets such as the EU, UK, Africa, Canada, Russia and the Middle East as well as new markets.
